The albino sea turtle – an extremely rare genetic phenomenon with an occurrence rate of only around 1 in 100,000 to 1 in 150,000 – has hatched twice at the Let’s Get Cracking Incubation Center at Six Senses Con Dao in less than two years, serving as a miraculous testament to what can happen when nature is carefully protected and nurtured.

Remarkably, within less than two years, this extraordinary event has taken place twice at the Let’s Get Cracking incubation center of Six Senses Con Dao — a moving reminder of what’s possible when nature is allowed to thrive.
The birth of the second albino hatchling is more than a rare biological milestone — it is a testament to the pristine ecosystem that continues to be carefully nurtured at Con Dao. Among thousands of baby turtles that have hatched, this tiny albino stands out: delicate yet resilient, cloaked in a pearly shell with translucent features. It is a gentle symbol of how nature reveals its rarest wonders when protected with intention and care.
Over 30,000 Hatchlings Returned to the Ocean: A Proud Milestone

Home to two rare sea turtle species — the Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) and the Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) — Con Dao is recognized as one of Vietnam’s most vital nesting grounds. The nearly 2-kilometer beach in front of the resort, protected from light pollution, single-use plastics, and artificial noise, has become a favored nesting site for mother turtles each year from March to October.
As of June 2025, the Let’s Get Cracking Incubation Center in collaboration with Con Dao National Park, has released more than 30,000 hatchlings back into the ocean. This remarkable figure marks a significant milestone and affirms the long-term impact of dedicated marine conservation.
